Teaching

I am passionate about getting students discussing topics in class, as well as engaging them in practical exercises to help them develop intutition and understanding for themselves. The current courses I'm teaching are listed below.

MTHM051 - Fundamentals of Weather and Climate Science

This masters-level course is a compulsary module on Exeter's new Masters course in ''. The course aims to introduce students to many of the fundamental concepts they will need in their study of weather and climate, including radiative transfer, rotating fluid dynamics, atmospheric thermodynamics, moist thermodynamics and ways of understanding the atmosphere through tephigrams.

MTHM019 - Fluid Dynamics of Atmospheres and Oceans

This masters-level course takes students from the starting point of the non-rotating Navier-Stokes equations and then explores the importance of rotation and stratification in the atmosphere and ocean on Earth, with some applications to other planets. This course is taught jointly with Dr. William Seviour.
